On 14 October 2026, OMEXOM GA Energo opened the first Omexom Institute in the Czech Republic at its Plzeň site. The new training centre has joined an international network of 25 training centres operating in 14 countries around the world. The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Omexom Brand Team management, who, together with the director of OMEXOM GA Energo, signed a charter defining the institute’s mission and operating principles.
Linking education with practice
The Omexom Institute is an international network focused on professional training, the sharing of experience and the development of technical knowledge. The Pilsen institute specialises in the field of Urban Solutions, namely smart technologies used in cities and public spaces.
“When we opened the Smart City Polygon in 2017, we were the first in the Czech Republic to establish a training centre for the demonstration and testing of smart technologies in a real- world environment. In the nearly nine years since it opened, hundreds of visitors have passed through its doors, ranging from students to representatives of towns and municipalities, right through to experts from the corporate sector. Joining the Omexom Institute network is a natural continuation of this journey. We are proud that the Plzeň centre has become part of an international educational platform and, at the same time, only the second institute within Omexom to focus on the field of Urban Solutions,” said the company’s CEO, Zdeněk Židek, at the opening ceremony.
The training centre is located directly on the premises of OMEXOM GA Energo in Plzeň. It provides a single-site solution for parking, security, public transport, street lighting and the technological infrastructure of the integration platform.
The grand opening culminated in the signing of the Omexom Institute charter. The document confirms a commitment to developing professional training, sharing practical experience and fostering collaboration across the Omexom network.
Technology in real-world operation
The training programme is based on a combination of specialist presentations and practical demonstrations. Participants will gain an overview of technologies that help improve public safety, protect property, manage traffic, ensure pedestrian safety and operate in a more environmentally friendly manner.
The individual systems are interconnected via an integration platform. This platform collects and evaluates their outputs, thereby enabling the monitoring of the entire solution’s operation and the subsequent analysis of the data obtained.
The first training session will take place in November
The first training session at the Omexom Institute in Plzeň will take place in November 2026. “We will be welcoming around twenty university students. This will be the first in a series of educational activities that we plan to organise here,” says Pavel Němeček, manager of the Omexom Institute. The institute will serve employees, students and the professional community as a venue for education, the sharing of experiences and the presentation of modern technologies for cities and public spaces.
Part of an international training network
The Omexom Institute is an international training network focused on professional training, the sharing of know-how and the development of technical skills across the Omexom Group. Its aim is to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and to create a space for the exchange of specialist knowledge between employees, customers, partners and students.
