A total of 22 employees took part in the Regional Half Marathon of the Pilsen Region. OMEXOM GA Energo partnered with this family race for the second time and offered its employees the opportunity to participate for free.

“The health of our employees is a top priority, which is why we partnered with the Regional Half Marathon again this year. The benefit for our employees was the free entry fee and I’m delighted that more than two dozen people took advantage of the opportunity this year. But this is not our only activity in this area. For example, on the occasion of World Health Day, all our employees receive a pack of vitamins, and we regularly participate in the Bike to Work event,” says Zdeněk Židek, the company’s CEO.

The regional half marathon was impacted by Covid restrictions, so this year it was held on 23 April after a two-year break and the interest of runners was record-breaking. Some 1,100 runners actively participated and could choose from several routes – the half marathon, the Regional Five and the OMEXOM Regional Ten. The youngest runners could run routes of 100 to 800 m.

The seventh year of the Regional Half Marathon was traditionally held in the Škodaland multifunctional complex with an accompanying program for visitors, which was musically enlivened by the Děda Mládek Illegal Band. It was also possible to try a climbing wall or giant darts, as well as an inflatable castle or face painting for the young ones.

A novelty of this year’s edition was the linking of the world of healthy athletes with the handicapped through the CzechTourism Magnificent 7 project, where visitors could try handbiking and measure each other’s strength in para-cycling. Zdeněk Židek, CEO of OMEXOM GA Energo, also rode a handbike.
