Forty participants from Omexom took part in the Pilsen Region Half Marathon, which traditionally starts at Skodaland in Pilsen. On Saturday, April 12, 2025, a record 1,800 runners—including 300 children—laced up their running shoes. Participants had the option to choose from several courses based on their strength and preferences: the classic half marathon, the OMEXOM regional ten, the LEAR regional five, or the team run.
Omexom GA Energo has long partnered with the Half Marathon, and this year it reaffirmed its commitment with a greater number of corporate runners and more spacious and comfortable facilities for participants. Additionally, the sunny weather and the entertainment program in the race area enhanced the festive atmosphere for everyone present.
This year, employees from OMEXOM GA Energo participated in a running event alongside their colleagues from Omexom Elektrotrans. The VINCI Academy Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia also joined the competition. Most participants opted for the five-kilometre route, while a few adventurous runners tackled the regional ten-kilometre course. The most enduring participants completed the entire half-marathon.
At the end of the races, the company announced the results, and it’s clear that this year’s edition was filled with record-breaking performances. “A total of 28 runners participated for OMEXOM GA Energo. Krzysztof Klis set a new company record on the Regional Five Men course, completing it in 24:53 and improving his previous best from 2019 by 4 seconds. Additionally, Vaclav Cerny established a new company record on the Regional Ten Men course with a time of 44:13, surpassing his performance from last year by 30 seconds. Even though our top half-marathon runner, Matej Plzak, did not improve his outstanding time of 1:28:25 this year, we will all be cheering for him again next year," summed up the company’s financial director, Ales Uldrych.
“We believe that all participants in the Pilsen Region Half Marathon, both runners and fans, enjoyed the event. We look forward to seeing them at future sporting events,” said Zdenek Zidek, the company’s CEO.
