Occupational safety has long been one of the key priorities of both the VINCI Energies Group and OMEXOM. This year’s Safety Week 2026 once again demonstrated that safety is not a one-time initiative, but an everyday mindset that begins with each and every one of us.
Safety Week took place from 18–22 May across the entire company and focused on onboarding – the safe integration of employees, contractors, and visitors into the working environment. Emphasis was placed on a systematic approach from the very first day on site, during every project change, and when returning to work after an interruption.
“Teams across the company took part in the activities, both on construction sites and in offices. The main communication channel was our internal JOBka application, which provided employees with themed videos and other content throughout the week,” said CEO Zdeněk Židek.
Across the VINCI Energies Group, Safety Week is an opportunity not only to strengthen the safety culture, but also to reinforce the belief that workplace accidents can be prevented. In this context, safety is viewed as a shared responsibility that is shaped by the daily decisions and behaviours of individuals.
In addition to the Safety Week activities, the VINCI Energies Group is gradually implementing the Safety Essentials concept. This is a unified framework that integrates safety into company management, work organisation, and day-to-day decision-making. The objective is not to introduce additional rules, but rather to harmonise the approach to safety and strengthen its role in practice. Particular emphasis is placed on the active involvement of every employee, personal responsibility and consistency, leadership by example from management, and the integration of safety into everyday decision-making processes.
